Cleveland – Antares Management Solutions, a premier provider of business process and information technology outsourcing, today announced its membership in The Green Grid, a global consortium dedicated to advancing energy efficiency in data centers and business computing ecosystems.
In an effort to advance energy efficiency in its own operations, in 2007 Antares aggressively embraced server virtualization technology. Forty percent of Antares’ 480 servers have been virtualized with plans underway to virtualize an additional 55 percent.
Antares is a mid-market provider with a 7,300 square foot data center. Since 2005, the Company’s data center has reduced its actual average kilowatts used per month by 25 percent while increasing capacity. Antares’ energy bill has also dropped 21 percent, trimming nearly $60,000 per year of overhead costs from the company’s budget.
The Green Grid seeks to provide industry-wide recommendations on best practices, metrics and technologies that will improve overall data center and business computing energy efficiencies. By joining The Green Grid, Antares is helping influence both developers and end users of data center technology.
