Executives
Ken Sidon President
Ken oversees the delivery of health and information technology services to Antares' customers and the conversion of new business. Ken received a bachelor's degree in computer science from Kent State University and an MBA from Baldwin Wallace College. He is a graduate of the Harvard University Advanced Management Program and has studied management innovation and technology at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Management. Ken is on the Executive Board of the Multiple Sclerosis Society Ohio Buckeye Chapter and serves on the Kent State University School of Business Advisory Board.
Divisions
Paul Apostle Vice President, Enterprise Technology Development and Innovation
Paul directs the activities of Antares' information systems professionals. He is responsible for implementing appropriate technology to improve service and reduce costs. Paul has been quoted in various trade journals, such as Computerworld, E-Week, and Insurance & Technology. He received a bachelor's degree from Cleveland State University, with major concentrations in computer science and industrial psychology, and earned an MBA from Case Western Reserve University. Paul is a Board Member and Communications Officer for the Managed Care Executive Group (MCEG) – a think tank of IT leaders from major, national managed care organizations.
Andy Balazs Vice President, Enterprise Technology, Advancement Infrastructure and Operations
Andy is responsible for the strategic direction of Antares' information technology infrastructure. He has more than 25 years of experience in the health insurance systems industry. From 1993–1994, Andy was loaned to the Cleveland Board of Education where he served as interim director of technology. During this time, Andy consolidated five IS facilities into one, reorganized the IS division, and reduced IS expenditures by 20 percent. He earned a bachelor's degree in marketing and quantitative analysis and an MBA from Cleveland State University. His community commitments include serving as a school board member for Kirtland, Ohio, Schools and as a board member for the YWCA.
Jim Harless Vice President, US Operations
Jim oversees Antares' health insurance claims processing, call center, benefit coding and record retention departments. He has more than 20 years of health insurance industry experience. Jim previously held positions as vice president of operations for Medical Mutual of Ohio (MMO) and president and CEO for Mutual Health Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of MMO providing third-party administration services such as utilization review, group purchasing, claims administration and customer service. Jim obtained his engineering degree from Clarkson University.
Tom Laub Vice President, Client Services
Tom is responsible for maintaining relationships with clients. He oversees implementation and post-implementation account management activities, monitors service level agreements and provides input during the due diligence engagements. Tom has more than 25 years of information systems experience that includes management of data centers, technical infrastructure, desktop and multi-platform mainframe technical services. In addition, he has managed both financial and IT audit functions. Tom has a bachelor's degree in management/marketing and an MBA from Baldwin Wallace College. He serves as President of the Board of Trustees for the Royal Youth Ballet Company and on the executive board of the Northern Ohio Golf Association. He is also a board trustee of the Strongsville Education Foundation.
Bob Mau Vice President, Information Security and eBusiness
Bob plays important roles that are critical to Antares’ customers – Information Security, Enterprise Architecture, Systems Planning, and eBusiness. Information security touches just about every aspect of the company’s business. Bob oversees Antares’ growing security efforts and brings a strong business perspective to this position. Before joining the company in 2007, Bob had 18 years of consulting experience with expertise in eBusiness, strategy formulation, IT infrastructure, and program management. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. Bob also has an Advanced Business Management Certificate from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern. He is currently on the Board of Advisors for the University of Akron’s Center for Information Technologies and eBusiness.
Tom Stepec Vice President, Finance
Tom is accountable for the finance department and the administrative services department, which processes billing, membership and eligibility. He has more than 20 years of finance and accounting experience. Tom received a bachelor's degree in business administration from Cleveland State University. He is a certified public accountant and a member of the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
